“A Little Slice of Heaven Overlooking Kenmare Bay” – this really is the best description of the Glamping or “Glamorous Camping” experience we offer here at our bespoke cabins on our organic sheep farm on the outskirts of Kenmare. Nestled on top of a green field (known as The Table Field) at the foot of Mucksna Mountain, our cabins offer a pure and natural escape from the hustle and bustle, yet are within a leisurely 20 minute walk with lovely views to the wonderful heritage town of Kenmare.

Each of our unique cabins has its own private space with an outdoor seating area, charcoal barbecue grill and a separate fire pit. The three cabins can be booked together for a small group or family. Access is via a gravel pathway from the parking spot. Luggage is loaded into your wheelbarrow, provided at the parking spot.

Dairach and Saileach, our first two bespoke cosy cabins, are unique accommodation options for your stay with us here in Kenmare. Luxury, comfort, peace and quiet and spectacular views, with the added bonus of having your own private space, is what you can dream of at Oaklane Glamping. Each cabin has uninterrupted views of the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and Kenmare Bay.

Built in 2022, we were able to design and create our own vision of what our glamping would look like. We wanted to create the feeling of the outdoors but with luxury within, and have achieved that we believe. In 2025 we added Beithe, again with the same amazing views, just a little larger with more space to sit indoors and for longer stays. All three cabins can be booked together for a group of up to 6 people.

Mornings

The sun rises behind the cabins over Mucksna. There is a yoga deck at the back of the field with views in every direction. Most days your only company is the sheep, a hare, a pheasant or one of the wild deer that roam these hills.

Evenings

Take the picnic blanket out to the hillside or the wild woodland. Watch the sun set behind the Reeks with a glass of wine, then stay out for the night sky. On wet days the sound of rain on the cabin roof does the rest.

With its vibrant shop front colours, a lovely green area in the middle of town and a happy, relaxed atmosphere, it is no wonder people who visit for the first time always come back again and again – some even choosing to relocate or own one of the many lovely holiday homes in its surrounds.

We know this part of Kerry on the Wild Atlantic Way is already popular with visitors seeking real natural beauty, wonderful hiking on the Kerry and Beara Way, cycling the quiet backroads, touring the Ring of Kerry or the Beara Peninsula, and some of the best cafes and restaurants in the country.
